Incredible, I didn't even know this could be obtained! Were they made in SA or exported there?

Yes, the T3 was made in South Africa until 2002. Over the years the model took on its on form there, big windows, the grill, 2.6l Audi engine the list goes on.

There are still thousands of these buses on the road over here - most of them being used as mini-bus taxis now - and looking in a sorry state.

The African T3's sure do look the part with the big windows and must pull like a train with the 2.6 Audi engine. A big difference from my 1.6d
