My tailgate needs some paint due to a bump, can anyone help with the code?

No probs, I know it by heart. ;)

There might be a sticker with the VW code in the 'box' under the driver's seat. Not sure tho' in case of colours not off the shelf. Just an info, not that important.

Hello!

Apologies for not g but can I ask how you would go about ordering this and where from? I have a 1986 Feuerwehr and am thinking about a complete respray...

Thanks,

Any good colour shop or car parts supplier should be able to mix it according to the code. Or the auto body shop itself (they can estimate how many litres they'll need). (:D

Not really. Some paint suppliers have spectrometers so they are able to scan your paint to get a colour code, this can give poor to excellent options and is great for doing smaller areas to blend in to existing paintwork. If you choose to respray then avoid bodyshops that focus on insurance work ad this involves quick, low profit work in quantity and the quality of work can suffer. Get word of mouth reccomendations and this should ensure good workmanship and be prepared to pay good money for a full respray. £1500 is cheap for a car without doing door shuts. Your van was a working vehicle so so bumps and bruises ate part of your vans history, but ultimately you must do what makes you happy.

If I won the lottery, it would be a nice house with an undercover car park; a garage just wouldn't be big enough to accommodate the number of VWs I would like to have in my possession All with (:D funnily enough.
