Snapped this photo on a recent visit to my old "workplace" in Durban. This unit replaced a T25 Syncro. It was around 2003, when Durban's Fire Service vehicles changed from the traditional red to yellow. The "forward control unit" (previously known as the Command Vehicle) is assigned to the Divisional Commander on duty - responds to serious incidents as per PDA or where his input may be required by his officers on scene at an incident.
Will try find some pics of the previous T25 command vehicle

Thanks !
I know that one of the DC's had a soft spot for it, but he (sadly) never ended up with it at the auction. I shudder to think what happened to many of those ex service vehicles at the time.
(they used a few double cab type pick-ups, not VW, in the gap between the Syncro and the new Transporter)
