In the meantime there's a whole fleet of WULLE Buses i.e. former Feuerwehr vans.
S WU 18 H is an early '68 T2a with drum brakes, S WU 19 H a '72 crossover T2a/b
The different rear ends, nice to compare
S WU 17 H is well known, ditto Klaus' hippie van
More WULLE Buses
Re: More WULLE Buses
Do they still work for a living, or are they enjoying their retirement???
Re: More WULLE Buses
Yes and no!
They became promo vehicles; this means they don't have to carry a load of heavy beer crates to the customers but various stuff (incl. beer crates) to events. Last year two VW roundels had been nicked in this, so it ain't as easy for them.
They hibernate out of event season at least.

Re: More WULLE Buses
One cutting-edge example:
a few minutes ago I spotted S WU 17 H in front of a recently reopened restaurant which is affiliated with the community hall of my home village.
It really fits a 60s building!
I wonder, why and how it climbed the steps!?
The lady, who drives it, seems to be a parking expert . So about prejudices ...

Re: More WULLE Buses
Places everyone!
It turned out, that Gunther was the parking expert! The landlord had asked the brewery for a promo vehicle, but there wasn't one available for this weekend. Gunther heard it through the grapevine, asked the brewery if it's OK and provided S WU 17 H he just had at hand for service. That's commitment!
Not to block the pavement he used two building site boards to climb the steps. Furthermore the van could be illuminated at night.
Sorry for overestimating you, Elisa . Either way, you are a skilled driver, as your Bus is in best condition of all.

Re: More WULLE Buses
Nice one Roland, and Gunther. That 60's building and the 60 's bus do go very well together indeed. I'm sure they left a crate in the back for Gunther for helping out! I'm sure Elisa is a great driver. Maybe we should ask her to comment ?
Did you get any night photos of this bus lit up? And are there any more of these Wulle buses?
It turns out (Thread hijack alarm!) that our local micro brewery "Blue Monkey" might have some T5s but alas they are not ex government vehicles. Will go down and get some pics anyway - and visit the shop! They do 5 litre barrels of very nice beers! EVW camp out anyone?!!
