My home village is Strümpfelbach but actually we are living in Fellbach-Schmiden a few miles away. I'm really tempted to join the Feuerwehr of this town district, but it ain't usual to be a member of two Freiwillige Feuerwehrs. Like Fellbach itself Schmiden has a good rep and - what is more - a LT!
Whilst I attended a Feuerwehr course last Saturday a room fire broke out in our street! Jutta provides us with some pics of this action:
Road closed, Einsatzleitung on the spot!
Could have been worse, 'just' a room fire
Everything under control
Room fire extinguished
Dismounting the Württembergian standpipe
'Hi down there!'
'We are due to leave, aren't we?'
'Yep, thanks for good cooperation!'
Fellbach's ladder came prophylactic but wasn't needed
Straightening up is the name of the game
The LT joins up
On-board EISEMANN generator
Used respiratory protection bottles are stored on the cab floor not to mix them up
Schmiden's fleet
Feuerwehr LT in action!
Re: Feuerwehr LT in action!
A good opportunity to post some overdue closer pics of Schmiden's LT. We took them at our street fest this summer.
BARTH conversion, what else?
In addition to the Fellbach city arms, which show three anchors, a small Schmiden city arms sticker is visible on the windscreen, local patriotism!
The anchor doesn't refer to navigation but is part of a wolf-trap and the symbol of the old Fellbach nobility. A horrible and vicious trap :
Modern radio handset which allows status messages at the tap of a key

Nice set of pice Roland (and Jutta!) Good to see an LT in action! Thanks for the extra pics and heraldry info too! Not a nice trap!
