Another historic shot; a very special one dating back to the late 60s. :!:

This superb deluxe (!) Splitty served at 229 Signal Squadron Berlin. Photo courtesy of my very dear friend Eddy Mulvana, who served there as well. :D

Note the Union Jack and other stickers:

The vehicle was designed to be used as a communication centre. It had a small telephone exchange fitted as well as a PA system. According speakers on the roof rack had been removed for this shot though.

The pic was taken under the bell tower aka 'Führer's tower' on the Maifeld = May Field adjacent to the Olympic Stadium. From 1945 till 1994 the May Field was part of the British HQ in Berlin. Famous and well visited by the Berliners was the annual Queen's Birthday Parade of the British troops taking place there.
