Many EVWs can look forward to a dignified 2nd life after withdrawal from service.
This sample, however, is the saddest ambo I've ever seen. From Krankenwagen to patient. Spotted on a tunnel construction site in this winter's first snow.
I even had the chance to take it for a brief spin on site. Despite the bald tyres the syncro had no probs. The mess inside was horrible, dust and dirt and gear-shifting was nearly impossible due to empty schnapps and vodka bottles all around. The stench stuck to my clothes for hours. Yuk!
It belongs to a fleet of similar battered deregistered poor wretches (like the T4 crewie in the background) and has been given the unlucky number ...
