Hi All
Despite the rather unfortunate ending, our week in Scotland was great!
Maybe if we hadn't stopped in here, we wouldn't have used so much fuel! We couldn't resist this side trip as i saw it on the map couple of days before we left.
And another country!
Loch Lubnaig, lovely!
Rannoch moor viewpoint...an amusing cook out spot where a bus load of German Tourists found our mode of transport rather curious...then they broke out the booze and sang a little song...truly a magic moment on the trip!
They were intrigued by our chicken lunch too and took it in turns to peer round the van at our cooker, on the ground beside us. Maybe they thought we were KatS on training exercise for long ditance transmissions...
Peace descended for just a few moments between the short stop trippers and allowed this shot.
The bus overshadowed by the bus!
Just before Eilean Donan Castle
Rob Roys Grave
Arriving after a long day of driving from Jedburgh, via Toronto!
Vicky went over the Bealach Na Ba (Pass of the Cattle), but the easier way and not fully loaded (like Herbie!)
Maybe that's why we came back like this
But not before the Highland Fire Service were called into action! Couldn't resist parking up here for a couple of minutes to take some pics.
More to come (but not too many, don't worry!)
John

Re: Scotland 2010
Ok, as threatened, here's a few more...
Part way through the week we got a new neighbour! This was Les in his smart Early Bay. I was a bit unsure about the Bealach Na Ba until he told me he had come over it in his 1600!
He told me of a little known VW bug/bus stash in Scotland where he managed ot get his engine for a bargain price.
The top of the Bealach Na Ba
The bottom of the Bealach Na Ba
Applecross bay
Landy Forward Control!!
We met up with the owner on a remote sea wall and had a natter about ex service vehicles
Saw this tracked truck....rather smart!
But this was a real Brucey Bonus! An Argo! (there were a few kids programs i remember with these amphibious 8 wheel buggies in )
This was a bonus too! Jenn spotted this as drove around the loooong Applecross coast road.
The cones are heavy in Scotland!
Not our last trip to Scotland!
