Motorsportclub Strümpfelbach 60th anniversary

Post by rolandrat » Mon Jul 01, 2013 9:32 am

Last weekend was a 60th anniversary one. The film club I'm being a member and the motorsport club I was a member.

The motorsport club's show has been overrun by a broad range of classic vehicles! Long queues at the entrance

Image

Any space left?

Image

Yes, later on

Image

I'd like to start with the Feuerwehr vehicles (:D :

Landy

Image

2x Magirus, a ladder and our tanker

Image

A Tranny ladder? No, it belongs to the Magirus shown above

Image

The army vehicles:

'64 Daimler Ferret Scout car. It's been found at a Belgian (!) scrap yard and is now in the livery of the 1st Royal Tank Regiment

Image

Driven by this 'Scotsman'

Image

Willys Jeep

Image

Two off-road vehicles - two fields of application

Image

Bundeswehr Munga with dummy

Image

No EVWs I'm afraid but a nice row of T2s

Image

Karmann convertible, Type 3 Variant and Type 3 fastback interrupted by a Fiat Multipla

Image

Vehicles came and went, the gap has been filled with a Citroen CX and a Maserati Ghibli? No, a rare Bitter CD based on an Opel Diplomat V8

Image

Beetle convertible towing an Eriba Puck

Image

Adjacent another (well-known) Puck towed by an Opel Kapitän

Image

Accompanied by a Glas Goggomobil. Go, Goggo, go!

Image

Ford Escort Mk I estate

Image

The Capri Mk III fits in

Image

Granada Mk II

Image

This brings me on to some rare Brit cars on site:

Welsh Marcos Mini GT

Image

Austin 7 Sports

Image

'30 MG Midget

Image

Wolseley Hornet Special and one of my favourites, an AC Cobra

Image

Another must-have since ages, a '57 Chevy Bel Air in white over red! :O

Image

Elvis! In the Back Seat Of My Cadillac ... er ... Chevrolet

Image

Hot rods (and hot Scots?)

Image

This one has a Beetle steering wheel

Image

These BMWs were bargains when I was young!

Image

Or the BMW 02 series, a pleasure to drive, whereas the Opel Olympias were all gone

Image

When my uncle living far away showed up with such a '59 Opel Rekord in 1969 it was absolutely out of fashion

Image

Surf Beetle (note bobblehead dachshund on rear shelf) and Triumph

Image

Different back views

Image

The massive one is a Rolls-Royce

Image

Messerschmitt (wasn't allowed to manufacture aircraft anymore) bubble car convertible

Image

Farm tractors:

Lanz Bulldog and its Polish replica Ursus

Image

Porsche!

Image

An Unimog towing a cart originally drawn by cows (the owner got a special permit; max. speed is limited to 20 km/h))

Image

Kaelble HD tractor. Note matching beer set!

Image

Last but not least the oldest car on site, a '11 Ford T

Image

One won't drive it over a long distance, when an appropriate towing vehicle is at hand

Wow Roland, that's one heck of a show and a great photo set. Such a great variety of stuff though i was rather taken by the landy! :D Pretty unusual to see a Brit vehicle in the Feuerwehr ranks. We had a few Range Rovers 4x4 and 6x4s in fact my dad drove a radio one at one point (a bit like the one below). Thanks for sharing.
