Pictures not for sensitive viewers !!!!!!!

Post by lowesk » Thu May 03, 2012 8:09 pm

Hi,

Hope you never have to experience this unfortunate event. Photo's taken in 1984 when I was still a volunteer fireman
in Westville South Africa. No people or animals were injured during the film shoot.

Regards

Hi,

No it was a privately owned panel van. We were called out to attend to the vehicle on fire on the freeway. The owner was on his way up the hill when the vehicle backfired and caught alight.

...And gone in minutes :o Thanks for those piccies....it's VW in an emergency!!

One question, in the air intake vents, is there a plastic insert? it just doesn't look like plain old metal there...maybe it's just heat distortion and/or charring. I just wondered if it may be a mod to stop the ongoing problem of rainwater in the air vents sloshing over the batteries and making an acidic battery tray eater! If there is such a mod, i would be interested in seeing more of these inserts!
