Abusbro - thank you, those links are much appreciated 8-)

I am still busy with my '59 bus, so not too much has happened with the ambulance - but I have "collected" a few choice bits and bobs over the last few months, one special item sourced by a forum member here. But I will reveal all at a later stage :D

Still looking for those '56 tail lights though - 300 pounds - too expensive for me

Alas - not much.

I've added to the collection of bits and bobs needed, including 2 stretchers, but not all period correct :(
VW ambulance spares for both bay and split busses are very, very scarce here in South Africa.

In the meantime, I have put a 1959 Kombi back on the road (although it still needs panels welded in), and I'm busy with a 1975 split screen single cab. The spares of both of these projects were more readily available, so it makes sense to press on with these two before tackling the ambulance.
