ABC-ErkKW - T25/T3 Syncro - Brunn Prototype

Post by Admin » Sun Apr 19, 2009 3:42 pm

This was a Brunn prototype (note the Bonn plates!) that never made it into production. Only this one exists/existed. What happened to it remains a mystery...at the moment!
Looking for a successor for the 200 181 Trekkers and 286 T3 Kombis this ABC-ErkKW prototype based on a 16-inch Syncro was built in '89. Followed by a T4 Syncro prototype in '94. Confusingly their appearance is very similar to a FüKW-TEL.

I think everybody loves this bus! You are lucky to get to go in it regularly! Can we all come over and have a visit sometime? :D :D
Please feel free to add to the photos or keep us updated with where it has been especially if it gets any off-road action!

We have a mini Brunn Syncro Fan Club here!

where do you come from?
Last week I have testet the T3 on a Street which was snow covered.
With my normal vehicle I could not drive on this street.
Offroad we had not testet our "syncro" .
The all time we drive only "onroad". it's a pity.
The kilometre reading is betwen 85000km and 90000km.
If we have new photos I set them in this forum.
I'm sorry for my English, It's not very good :-)

We could change, your club buy us a normal new VW T5 and your club get the T3 *jokingly*
What means the "Brunn" in "Brunn Prototype"
Yesterday I have asked the "Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe" They said to me that the T3 was rebuilt by "Fa. Hörmann Entwicklungs GmbH
Hauptstrasse 45-47
8011 Kirchseeon/München"

It was originally converted by Brunn of Bonn for Katastrophenschutz and was maybe used as a demonstration vehicle. No more were made so it remained the only Brunn Syncro converted for the Katastrophenschutz, the datasheet/typenblatt page has a link for the typenblatt for this vehicle here http://kats.thebughaus.co.uk/kats/viewt ... f=11&t=164 - 16" Syncro Prototype.

Thank you for the additional information regarding it's later conversion for general use. Do you know when that happened?

I know, the snow in that would be great fun! T3ABC, I am in Nottingham, England so a visit would have to be well planned! :) maybe one day!
Maybe if your T3 becomes spare, we can borrow it for a bit of off roading! ;)
Your English is good by the way. Far better than my German!
