 Has anyone been to Hack Green Nuclear Bunker? http://www.hackgreen.co.uk/

I've not, but always fancied it....maybe we could make it a Forum Outing next year if enough people are interested. Any thoughts ?

Just noticed their hangar sales.....
Surplus Sale
In the Hangar building outside the Hack Green Bunker, there will be held twice yearly sales of surplus communications & military equipment. The sales are open to the public at 10.00am.

The sales will be held on the Sundays of 28th March & 3rd October 2010.
Hmm...3rd of October anyone?

Well John i'd never heard of the place before, and it ain't too far away from us in Lancashire! Certainly has some interesting history... and i guess would make a perfect backdrop for some KatS photos! As for the ex-military sale... all i've got ETCHED in my mind is that gas mask in the Baron's Krankenwagen.....

Hunting for Feuerwehr kit eh...? At another secret location perhaps... :?: :!:

Think Mark and Gunther's Funkwagen's had a serious effect on you at Vanfest

Should we be looking for another complete KatS bus??? (we won't tell Jenn... yet! ;) )

8-) Hmmm, i think i might have to say no...unless there is a secret bunker i could store it! @) e:( :)
There's no secret about the location of my parts hunting. It's the International Hamfest at Newark so only radio related stuff on offer but i did turn up a fully functioning FuG7b last year so we'll see what turns up!

An update on this, I had to take the other half to Manchester Airport at the back end of last year. It was the perfect opportunity to drop in to Hack Green on the way back! Great location, good cafe and interesting displays in the bunker itself, a mix of original features and fittings and displays of other bunkers. Well worth the visit!

If we get some interest in a group meet up here, I'd be up for it.
