Morning!
Good afternoon!
The football's European championship is underway and yesterday we had our first public viewing at the fire station.
It started with a BYO barbie
Getting the fire alarm siren ready
After the triumph over Portugal we had a great time. Remarkable was Portugal's ghost goal, we call it 'Wembley goal' since 1966

Re: Morning!
Evening!
Looks like you had fun Roland! I rather like that little handheld siren! (accessory spotting! Do you have one to bring to Busfest?). Also....is that an old NSU in the first pic?

Morning!
The handheld siren is no official or classic one like the one we had at our primary school; it's made by DYNTRONIC and was recently bought via amazon.de
http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1 ... ne&x=0&y=0
I'm sure I can borrow it for Busfest.
The old car is a Volvo PV 444 from the 50s. In contrast to its successor, the PV 544, it has a split window! Both are nicknamed 'Hump-Volvo'.
At our yesterday's public viewing we didn't let the public in.
Just kidding, it's the smokers at half time

Re: Morning!
Cheers Roland
That's your pick up behind those lock outs! PV444, will have to look that up and those sirens look rather good....maybe Pete is getting rid of his firebell? Narrgh he'll need it for his next acquisition!
<EDIT> I like these, from the windscreen back it looks like one of the early beetle designs.
From Wikipedia, the 444
This one in fact, the NSU built beetle prototype - 1932...i guess that's why i had NSU in my head when i saw it.
and elements of the Zundapp too...i guess it was the styles of the era.

Re: Morning!
So...we're out of the footy ....it's go Germany go! (who are they playing?)
Re: Morning!
A Beetle prototype in my village would be too good to be true!
But it's always Volvos behind our grillage
This time (3rd public viewing) a PV 544
The 444 in its full glory
Very similar to the early Beetle designs indeed
A newcomer, a P 120 Amazon, still on Swedish number plates
A padlock, for whatever it's worth
The whole bunch belongs to a chap who is running a classic car garage. He also collects Porsches, the rather unpopular 924
Last but not least I even spotted a KatS vehicle in the hood!
Obviously an ex-THW Merc crewie. Modern semaphores?
And yes, it's my single cab in the smokers' corner, well spotted!
As for England's elimination I'm very sorry. I watched it yesterday but forgot to wear my Three Lions cap. Why do they always mess up the shoot-out?

Re: Morning!
Your colleagues smoke some mighty big cigars!!!
Re: Morning!
Well spotted, that's what it looks like and what attracted me!
Actually the cigars belonged to two guests, who enjoyed their meal whilst I made the pic.
These two comrades just smoke fags. So it's a nice pic for our annual social evening to wind them up.

Re: Morning!
Italy kicked us out as well. Tonite will show who's champion!
I'm no football fan at all but like many others I like the cheer.
After two really hot days we had massive thunderstorms last night and it's still .
