Fantastic, very low mileage, amazing condition.

Engine: 2.1 litre PETROL
Power: xx KW / 112 PS
Fuel type: Petrol
Gear change: Manual 5 speed
First registered: xx/1987
Colour: Elfin beige

Tachograph reading 64,805km = 40,503 miles
MOT expiry January 20th 2015.

History
Originally owned by the German Red Cross (the DRK) in Arnsberg until I bought it in 2007 when I imported it to the UK and registered it here. Always garaged by the DRK.

In 2007, it was professionally converted into a camper by a specialist company in Lubeck, Germany.

Description
It was fitted from new with a semi high top roof in fibreglass manufactured by the German boat builders Dehler and hence similar in shape to the Dehler Profi (albeit for platforms for mounting the front 2 blue lights which have now been removed).

The roof is semi high top and so allow adults to stand up comfortably but there is no sleeping accommodation in the roof; however there are front and rear storage compartments in the roof. The roof is lined with an inner plastic moulded shell which houses the cupboards which have roller shutter type doors and has been manufactured to a very high standard.

Mechanical Condition
Extremely good condition as would be expected with such a low mileage.
MOT is valid (see above).

The original suspension coils were very soft so I had the van lowered on -50mm springs. The setup turned out to be the perfect solution as the van handles really well, it does not lurch when going round bends and it does not bottom out at all and it does not suffer from the heavy rattles that a hard suspension would give. Also the lowering makes the van look a lot nicer.

Tyres
Good.

Exterior Condition
It was always garaged by the DRK There is absolutely NO rust whatsoever.
Sadly, the van has a small dent on the leading edge of the offside wheel arch (see picture).
There are a few minor paint chips.

Interior

The camping interior is complete with sink, 2 ring burner, double bed, swivel seats, interior lighting, radio/CD and plenty of storage.

It has a canvas and tubular steel folding bed that mounts onto the door tops to accommodate a child.

Internally there is a fridge which has a small freezing compartment; a glass cover lifts to show a 2 ring gas burner and sink (both housed in the same stainless steel unit. The sink is served by waste and clean water bottles in one of the cabinets below. The hob is served by a gas canister in another cabinet.

The sink has a 12v tap for cold water supply only.

The furniture is beech melamine and constructed to a very high standard with real beech edging trim. There is plenty of storage within.
The units look almost new.

The units house a socket which is powered when the electrical hookup (a socket on the van longside) is connected to a power point on the camp site.
There is a rear bench seat (with storage beneath) which converts to a double bed.
There is also a table which swivels so that it can be used at the bench seat or as a serving counter by the door or just as an additional food preparation area.

There is a small shelf above the units for placing bits and bobs.

The 2 front seats are the Isringhausen ones which were optional in Westfalia campers. These seats are manufactured by a company that specialise in vehicle seats; they are extremely comfortable and have adjustable armrests. They are in really good condition for their age. The passenger seat rotates to face the bench seat when camping. These seats are in extremely good condition and alone are worth about 300 Euros.

The cargo area has a nice fitted carpet that can be removed to expose the original ambulance tough vinyl floor.
The walk through and cab areas have matching carpets that can be removed to expose the original VW flooring (very good, clean condition).

Additional equipment

There is a chrome ventilation unit in the ceiling (original ambulance equipment).
The fan is bi-directional to either suck or blow air. The fan has a light in the middle and can be adjusted to close off the vent.

The original frosted windows were replaced with clear but have been tinted (only the rear ones). The window in the sliding door and the one opposite are sliding windows.

The ambulance has a step which is automatically moved out from under the van when the cargo door is opened and back when closed.

There is a standing heater which is controlled from the dashboard; it is fuelled by petrol from the same tank as the engine itself and is great for warming the van when the hookup is not connected.

To finish the van, there is a Fiamma awning which is on the side of the van and rolls out like a roller blind, with aluminium legs; it acts as a sun or rain shelter and is nice to sit out under. It has a strap to tether it down in high winds.
