Vanfest 2011
Anybody going this year? Not sure whether they want a display this year or not. Roland will keep us posted on that front. Must remember to book the Friday off at least! It's no fun arriving lateish on Friday night and struggling to camp.

When she was in juniors, it was easy, a note to the headmistress was good enough to get her out early, but now she's gone up - it's a totally different kettle of fish!!!
But yes, stakeing out a large area of a very small field is probably the way forward!!!
come to think of it, I do have some 'fire & rescue' tape we could use!!!

Hi Guys & Gals,
Looking forward to having you all with us again at this years Vanfest.
I'm hoping we will be able to do a bit more that just a static display & parade this year. Can we try and come up with some emergency scenario that could be enacted out in the main arena (Saturday pm), that involves spraying a lot of water & foam about etc- I can do crazy foam on the Vanfest Incident Vehicle (as well as the normal stuff).
Here is the latest update. (there is also now a BLOG on the main Vanfest Website to keep you up to date.)

VANFEST UPDATE - JUNE 2011
TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR BOOKING YOUR CAMPING
First of all if you have not yet made up your mind to come to VANFEST (or not) this year, then time is running out.
There is now JUST 5 WEEKS to go before we CLOSE the Advance Bookings.
We are on target to close the advance bookings at the end of JULY. Some of the popular camping areas are filling up fast & we will be closing the bookings on these very soon (in particular the Langdale Wood & Family Camping Areas).
We also already almost have a full compliment of traders (over 350 plots)
ARRIVING EARLY – LEAVING LATE?
If you fancy arriving in the MALVERN area a bit earlier to do a bit of local sightseeing or/and leaving on the Monday after the event then our WELLAND site (located about 1km from the Main site) is an ideal spot for you to be based for this year’s event.
Our WELLAND SITE will be opening on WEDNESDAY 7th Sept. until MONDAY 12th Sept.
We run a shuttle bus to & from the main site from the Friday, so you can have all the Festival experience & then go back to a much more relaxed campsite in the evenings.
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN TO BOOK YOUR CAMPING UNIT PASS(s)?
Please be aware if you are intending to book (or have already booked) for camping that you must also book your camping unit space(s) as a separate (extra) to your adult entry tickets.
We will be catching up with those who have managed to miss that bit, but if you are one of these people, there is now an additional booking facility for extra (or failed to book) camping units which allows you to just book camping units.
We will be sending out tickets during July & August
VANFEST BIG 60 – A CELEBRATION OF OVER 60 YEARS OF TRANSPORTING
You may have noticed, on the telly the latest, VW Commercials Advert celebrating 60 years of Transporters. We are a bit ahead of the game.
Following on from last year’s preliminary attempt of getting a VW Transporter from each year of manufacture into a single line up, this year we are going to have another go at it and hopefully this time we will get the FULL compliment of vans.
It really is very simple. We are looking for (wherever possible) fairly standard vans from each year of manufacture. This will be done on a first come basis & we will gradually build up a running list of successful vehicles, which will be shown on the website. This display will take part on the Saturday in the MAIN ARENA.
If you would like to take part in the display or any of our other ones (Well Travelled Transporters, Syncro4motion, Alternative Engines, Emergency Vehicles please check the Display Section on the Website.
SLADE COMING TO VANFEST?
YES it is TRUE!.
This is a real treat for Vanfest (and SLADE ) fans.
The boys from Wolverhampton spend most of their time touring Europe these days (where they are still MEGGASTARS!).
We have managed to get them for one of their very few (the other one being Bognor! ), UK tour Dates.
So Cum & Feel the Noize at this year’s Vanfest.
SORRY, but we were unable to get the WOMBLES (some other bloke at Glastonbury got them signed up before they went back into hibernation)…………..
BUT, ……………………………………….we do have some other amazing acts as well including;
RIGHT SAID FRED, .................................................. (ARE YOU TOO SEXY FOR YOUR VAN?)
DIVA FEVER, MIKKI JAY, COUNTERFEIT ABBA, TROPICAL HEATWAVE,

VANFEST “VANCY DRESS” - A FANCY DRESS COMPETITION for you AND your CAMPER
This is something NEW for this year’s VANFEST which the whole family & friends (including your van) can get involved in.
Many of you already dress up to go to our evening entertainment; (others because you just like dressing up!). Why not get your van involved as well?
This year we have numerous themes running at VANFEST over the weekend, so there is plenty to chose from if you cannot manage to come up with something yourself.
Many Clubs are also taking part in our Themed Club Plot Competition as well so a “VANCY Dress VAN in the VANCY DRESS Competition could also be part of it as well. (if you have ever been a young Farmer then you will know what this is all about!)

We will also be (as usual) at Tatton Park 7th August (& if you are really adventurous) also at the Berlin Bus Treffen over the same weekend.
