Hi,
as the title suggests I'm looking for the paint code for my '69 ambulance. Was it a standard ambo colour or will they vary from one region to another? I'm only spraying front bumper due to stone chips so it will look shocking if I get it wrong next the front panel.
Cheers
Ben
p.s.chassis number details - m code by pm if required

Re: Paint code for '69 Ambulance
It's from Sweden, ain't?
In Germany they were painted in the VW colour L 567 resp. RAL 1014 elfenbein (= ivory), not sure, if the Swedes had the same colour.
No colour sticker behind the seat?

If that doesn't work Ben, good automotive paint shops have paint chips and even modern optical scanners that can match a paint to your existing one. There's a place i use in Nottingham that has this and is quite common....and one of the staff dragraces bugs! A most friendly and helpful place!

Thanks but this is exactly what I'm trying to avoid as I dont believe the colour scanner is a true colour match will try a few other avenues and see what comes of them,

I see what you mean Ben, i've never used the scanner but we used paint chips for the paint i used for the windscreen surround clean up. Which matched up nicely though it doesn't always so well! You can end up with differences even if you use the paint code as your old paint can fade and absorb crud. Though you can help that by cutting back the old stuff with T-cut or body clays.

Easy mistake to make. Maybe it was a cream coloured one?
