Re: Trace

It looked really good, but Lämmermann wasn't able to help in the end.

One reason to contact them first and not the firefighters is the experience, that they all got a website but never reply to emails.

Will keep on pestering them after my holidays. :}^

Xmas baking

Time for Xmas biscuit baking! Cutouts are very nice, we were in luck to acquire a VW T1 cutter at a Xmas market. The biscuits displayed here are made from durable salt dough tho' and inedible. Just for wall deco. http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad287/EVWGRUPPE/DSC02640_zpsnrqtpfeg.jpg http://i944...

Re: Trace

Great find, Groß-Gerau is located SW of Frankfurt and actually seems to be Billy's area of service! It's quite likely, that a KatS vehicle wasn't serviced by the KatS' own garages, private ones sometimes did the job. Already checked Feuerwehr Groß-Gerau's site for infos and also the local THW site. ...

Re: Trace

Nope, this is his tax-exempt Dutch numberplate, argh! At first glance I saw BN for Bonn, but ain't. Should have been BN-8xxx. I'd check every item which came with the vehicle for the original numberplate. Organizations like the fire fighters tend to mark it with either a colour and/or the numberplat...

Re: Trace

Ordering a VIN-related certificate from VW costs 65 Euros and can take up to five months till one gets it. Inter alia it tells you the destination of your vehicle, usually a VW dealership. Not of much help, as all FuKW 78s went to BRUNN in Bonn to be converted. []<O Why not trying to get in touch wi...

Re: Trace

Amersfoort ain't the German station you are looking for, I'm afraid.

Amersfoort is located in Holland. I reckon, that Billy's pre-owner, who worked there, either acquired it from a Dutch person or registered it there himself.

The search continues ...

Re: Trace

Hi Busman, do you got the German owner document called 'Kraftfahrzeugbrief'? All owners are recorded there. If not, the knowledge of the original numberplate would be helpful. One to three letters, followed by an 8 and three other digits. It's very likely to find it handwritten on some goodies which...

Re: 1975 fire bus custom interior but in keeping with firebus

Spotted in VolksWorld Magazine issue July 17. http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad287/EVWGRUPPE/fireb_zpshngabncb.jpeg The new owner will hopefully find a solution as for polish or patina. Dick, if you read this, I'm an advocate of patina! /\:) Furthermore I'd like to push you to become a forum mem...
